Tai chi is often described as “meditation in motion,” but it might well be called “medication in motion.” There is growing evidence that this mind-body practice has value in treating or preventing many health problems.

Tai Chi is an ancient martial art from China. In the past twenty years it has gained popularity as a fun, easy, and stress relieving form of exercise.

Tai Chi with its easy flowing movements is considered by some to be meditation in motion. This exercise involves a series of movements performed in a focused manner at a slow pace. Deep breathing will accompany the movements.

At IMPACT we focus on using Tai Chi to improve balance, relieve pain, and improve overall health. This exercise is great for people of all ages and ability levels. This is also a wonderful exercise for older adults who may not be able to otherwise participate in physical activity. Tai Chi is also generally safe for people experiencing a variety of medical problems.
